CAMPS at AGAWAM
For more than 40 years, Agawam has offered summer Camps for its youngest members and their friends rising into first through twelfth grades. Regardless of age, each Agawam camp week is filled with summer fun, sun, and exertion on our 130 acre property. With a thoughtful approach to structuring campers’ days, activities, professional instruction, courses and courts are tailored to each child’s age and ability. All campers benefit from cooling off in our heated pool and satisfying their appetite with a healthy meal at our Lunch Box cafe.
Camp Agawam is geared towards children rising into 1st through 6th Grade. Children are grouped by grades 1-3 and 4-6, or according to skill level. For Summer of 2020, Camp Agawam will be offered the weeks of June 15, June 22, July 13, July 20, July 27, August 3, August 10, August 17 and August 24.
Camp Agawam runs from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. daily. In the morning, campers rotate into different clinics led by Agawam’s professional golf and racquets staff.
With our Racquets Professional, Dana Parziale, campers learn and improve upon essential racquets skills in a format that mixes conditioning, drills and games with top-notch instruction. Our racquets program includes tennis, squash and pickleball, so each camper is sure to find a sport he/she likes.
Over on the golf course, our Golf Professional, Norm Alberigo and his PGA certified staff lead children on a number of drills and games are used to teach everything from hand-eye coordination to traditional golf skills. Children get plenty of time to work on chipping, putting and driving with instruction from our seasoned golf professionals.
As with all sporting at Agawam, our intention is to help children find the joy in sport with a friendly and fun approach to learning and tuning skills.
Between and after clinics, campers have the opportunity to enjoy our sun-soaked pool and other fun and creative STEAM activities led by professional counselors from Lincoln School. Recent campers have: built and tested boats in the pool, created comic books and graphic novels, made tie-dyed clothing and learned a variety of ways to craft friendship bracelets.
When time and interest permit, the professional chefs at Agawam have led the campers in cooking clinics where they’ve made pizza, pies and smoothies from scratch.
In short, Camp Agawam staff and councilors have the expertise and flexibility to tailor each week's program to campers' ages and interests.
